Meaghon Reid Will Join Vibrant Communities Calgary as Executive Director

15 August 2019

Vibrant Communities Calgary (VCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Meaghon Reid as the Executive Director of the organization as of September 11, 2019. This appointment follows the retirement of Franco Savoia, who has provided leadership, direction and inspiration to VCC for over six years.

Meaghon has diverse experience in organizational leadership, advocacy, collective impact initiatives and policy change. Most recently, Meaghon has been the Executive Director of the Brenda Strafford Centre, the largest second stage domestic violence shelter in the province, where she experienced firsthand how the critical work being undertaken under the Enough for All Strategy has positively impacted the lives of people experiencing poverty. Before that, she worked in Ottawa and Washington D.C. in the areas of mental health and addictions.

Meaghon is excited to join the team and move the Enough for All 2.0 strategy forward alongside all of our community partners.

Relationships are fundamental to the work of Vibrant Communities Calgary and the implementation of Enough for All 2.0. Franco Savoia will remain on staff until September 30, 2019. Meaghon and Franco are excited to work together to ensure a smooth transition of leadership for all the people and organizations that are so critical in reducing poverty in our city.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Meaghon as she joins our VCC Board and staff team!
