Feedback for a Canadian poverty reduction strategy
We were thrilled to host two sessions in early March on behalf of Employment and Social Development Canada to collect input for a Canadian poverty reduction strategy. We had a wonderful turn-out, fantastic conversation and engaging participation from everyone in attendance. Summarizing 80 attendees’ perspectives was no easy task, with tremendous diversity in opinions and experiences. This variety was a good thing! It demonstrates that poverty is complex, and that there are as many ways out of it as there are ways into it. Here’s the collation of feedback we heard March 2: CdnPovertyReductionStrategyConsult_Final. This is the same report which we submitted to ESDC via the Tamarack Institute.
Consultations are still open! If you would like to contribute to the creation of a Canadian poverty reduction strategy visit Employment and Social Development Canada.
